Nothing excites fast food fans quite like a new McDonald’s menu item – and this spicy returning champion is bound to be a hit.
Yes, the iconic McSpicy X Frank’s RedHot is making a comeback — and this time there’s a brand new dip too.
For the first time ever, Frank’s RedHot Mayo dip – the same that’s in the burger — will be available to order separately.
The mayo-with-a-kick will be available to level up your sides and, apparently, even your dessert.
Available exclusively in the UK, McDonald’s says, ‘Whether it’s McNuggets, fries, or even an apple pie – yes, really – lovers of bold flavours can now spice up the entire menu with this creamy, tangy, and fiery mayo.’
While we might give the Apple Pie pairing a miss, the idea of Frank’s RedHot mayo and a sharing box of nuggets already has us sweating.

What’s in the McSpicy Frank’s RedHot?
Like its first release, the McSpicy Frank’s RedHot will feature 100% chicken breast in a ‘hot and crispy coating’.
The burger will be topped with lettuce, cheese made with Emmental, jalapeños, slivered onions, and, of course, Frank’s RedHot Mayo, all sat under a toasted sesame seed bun.
It might be worth grabbing a McFlurry, too, just in case the spice proves too much to handle.

When will McSpicy Frank’s RedHot be released in the UK?
Spice fans should assemble outside their local McDonalds on May 7, 2025, for the official return of the McSpicy.
The burger-only price will £5.99, with a medium meal costing £7.99, and the dip only setting you back just 50p (though, prices may vary across UK restaurants).
You can also gain Double Rewards Points when you buy the McSpicy Frank’s RedHot via the McDonald’s App.
Last time around, McDonald’s fans went wild for the McSpicy Frank’s RedHot, with Instagram user @grumpynorthernfoodie saying, ‘Oh yes!! All kinds of amazing’.
Another commenter, @surreysmoking chose to simply call it ‘utterly genius’, while @tashajiujitsu said ‘this will be incredible’.
Soonmixdin perhaps had the highest praise, commenting ‘How do you improve on perfection? THIS!!!!’
However, Reddit user @GiveItARestYhYh described it as having ‘a nice level of spice’ going on to say, ‘Not challenging at all, but actually left a glow’.

What Metro thought of the McSpicy Frank’s RedHot
The Metro team did a taste test of the McSpicy Frank’s RedHot, and it’s fair to say that it divided opinion.
Lifestyle reporter Courtney said, ‘Heat levels aside, I really enjoyed the burger; it was packed with a lot of filling, the chicken was nice and crispy, and there was a refreshing amount of lettuce, too. I’d give it a solid 5/5. McDonald’s did exactly what they set out to do with this one.

However, social producer Torin wasn’t such a fan, adding: ‘As a McDonald’s fan, I know they thrive when it comes to spice. So, I had high hopes for the new McSpicy x Red Hot collaboration. However, in my frank view, this would be a special I would skip.
Metro’s executive editor Richard sat firmly in the middle, saying: ‘I wouldn’t say it’s blown my mind, but it’s definitely spicier than anything I’ve had from McDonald’s before. All in all a tasty treat that has hit the spot and I wouldn’t shy away from having another one.’
